Hi, I’m Chris Virgin—professional solar panel cleaner, equipment nerd, industry educator, and founder of SolarTidy San Diego. I’ve been cleaning solar panels professionally for over a decade, but my obsession with clean glass and maximum efficiency started long before that. What began as a commercial contract job turned into a career and a calling, leading me from large-scale utility arrays to the rooftops of residential homes across Southern California.
Today, I specialize in residential and commercial solar panel cleaning, but my real passion is elevating the solar panel cleaning industry as a whole. That’s why I founded Solar Panel Cleaning Friends, an online community and SPCFonline.com equipment supply hub built by cleaners, for cleaners. I’m also one of the voices behind the Rise and Shine podcast, where we tackle everything from pricing strategies to industry regulation, with a healthy dose of laughs and real talk.
I believe every jobsite tells a story, and no two are the same. That’s why I teach the RAR method—Recognize, Analyze, Resolve. It’s not just a catchy acronym; it’s how professionals stay safe, efficient, and respected on the job. Location dictates everything, and I’ve seen firsthand that what works in the desert doesn’t always work near the coast.
